Here is a quick guide to Naseby’s rubbish collection service run by Central Otago Disctrict Council (CODC).
Key Information:
- Collection Day: The rubbish collection day for Naseby is every Thursday morning.
- Collection Schedule: The blue glass recycling bin, yellow mixed recycling bin, and red rubbish bin are each collected on different weeks as per the calendar. The green bin is collected every week.
- Bin Placement: Bins must be placed at the kerbside facing the road, away from driveways and entrances, 1 metre from parked cars and poles, have a 3 metre clearance above them, and a 30-50 cm gap between each bin.
- Time: The council advises that all bins must be placed out by 7am.

The CODC Bin App is available. However, after testing the app, we have found that it does not provide correct notifications for when to put bins out in Naseby, and therefore we do not recommend it.
For more information on all CODC waste services, you can also visit the Recycling and rubbish section of the CODC website. You can also find the collection schedule on the back page of the current edition of Positively Maniototo magazine.
The full Kerbside Waste “Calendar 2” for 2025-2026 (pdf opens in new tab) is provided by CODC.
